PLAYER PLACEMENT POLICY:
All players are placed on divisional teams based on weights and ages as set by the GCYFL. In cases where a player is eligible for more than one division, the decision on where the player should be placed will be decided upon by the Parent, and coaches. If a situation arises in which it is felt that the player has been placed in an unsafe situation, the Athletic Director, Vice President and President will discuss the situation with the player and parent and take appropriate action including but not limited to moving the player to a lower division or removing the player from the program. Also, in cases where one team's roster is full and one team is short, it may be suggested to the player and family to play on the team that is short handed. This would be a voluntary move decided by the player and parent.
TEAM ROSTER POLICY:
All returning players registered are placed on the roster for a division in which he or she is eligible. See Player Placement Policy for players eligible for multiple divisions. Once those players are accounted for, a total count will be done to determine whether the roster has reached it’s cap. If the cap has not been reached, the teams will hold player evaluations to fill the remaining spots. The Head Coach, at his own discretion, may opt to take more players than what the roster cap, but may not take less.
Players new to the Saugus Spartans (players who did not play on a Saugus Spartan team during the 2022
season) may not register before February 15, 2023.
Once the early registration period ends the players on the wait list will be added to the team roster for
